Tour of St John for the Virtual Pioneers, Part I

Last evening, St John had a visit from the Virtual Pioneers.

Emmanuelle Huntress, Swimmy Sandalwood, Rudolfo Woodget and I gave a tour of St John to the visitors. We were greatly assisted by Aoife Lorefield, who handled work behind the scenes. Our focus was on the connections between St John and the actual history and city of New Orleans.

I owe all of the tour team a huge thank you! There is no way that I could have given the tour that we gave without your assistance.

Here are the transcripts from our tour. We had so much information that we decided to have a Tour Part II at some point in the future!

[17:05] Gabrielle Riel: Gabrielle Riel: Welcome Virtual Pioneers! Please join me in the square in the center of the sim!

[Note: we started in Duchess Square at]

[17:05] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): Was it haunted?

[17:05] Wisdomseeker (lissena): according to the guides

[17:05] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): ok so which way is center of sim?

[17:06] Gabrielle Riel: Hello there :-)

[17:06] Thunder (thunder.insippo): Hey Joey

[17:06] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): Hi Thunder

[17:06] Gabrielle Riel: There we go - come on in to the square!

[17:07] Beth Ghostraven: Hi Thunder!

[17:07] Gabrielle Riel: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to St John Parish! I am Gabrielle Riel, the estate owner of the St John Estate.

[17:07] Beth Ghostraven: Hi blanche! Come on over!

[17:07] Wisdomseeker (lissena): Bon soir

[17:08] Gabrielle Riel: Thank you so much for visiting us this afternoon/evening!

[17:08] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): uh oh absinthe bar, we'll hallucinate lol

[17:08] Blanche (blanche.fralto) hope up and down and waving to everyone

[17:08] Stephen Xootfly: Glad to be here, Lady Gabriella.

[17:08] Zoe Foodiboo: Thank you for having us.

[17:08] Serena Offcourse: I am last to come

[17:08] Gabrielle Riel: One of the things that I am known for is starting events and meetings on time, and our tour here will be no different, so I am going to go ahead and get started. Latecomers are absolutely welcome to join us as they arrive.

[17:08] Serena Offcourse: Thanks again Gabrielle

[17:08] Gabrielle Riel: yvw!

[17:09] Zoe Foodiboo: awesome

[17:09] Gabrielle Riel: St John has a total of 4 sims and about 60 residents and I am pleased to be able to show you our home. The tour today is just in this sim St John Parish; however I welcome you to stay after the tour and visit the other 3 sims which you see North of here on the World map. Or feel free to return in the future to explore further.

[17:10] Gabrielle Riel: I'd like to give you a quick explanation of how this tour will work so you know what to expect during your time with us.

[17:10] Gabrielle Riel: The first half of today's tour will take place in text in main chat here. We are not using SL voice, it's all text.

[17:10] Beth Ghostraven: Thank you!

[17:11] Gabrielle Riel: The second part of the tour will be an audio broadcast, which will require you to turn on your parcel audio to listen. You can also open the audio stream in a media player that is external to the Second Life client.

[17:11] Stephen Xootfly: wow, quite a fancy multimedia VP tour...

[17:11] Serena Offcourse: That sounds cool!

[17:11] Beth Ghostraven: yes!

[17:11] Zoe Foodiboo grins

[17:11] Kim Anubis: The parcel audio is already good :)

[17:12] Elyen Zlatkes: yes

[17:12] Wisdomseeker (lissena): :)

[17:12] Gabrielle Riel: If you are absolutely unable to listen to an audio stream, the "core" of the tour will be finished at that point, so you won't be missing anything important about the sim itself.

[17:12] Beth Ghostraven: That's Radio Riel

[17:12] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): makes me want to dance

[17:12] Gabrielle Riel: Yes, what you hear on the land audio right now is Radio Riel Ragtime.

[17:12] Gabrielle Riel: It's set on all of our public spaces here.

[17:12] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): Good station

[17:12] Zoe Foodiboo: It Gabi Riel giving the tour. So far so good.

[17:13] Zoe Foodiboo: oops, wrong box. lol

[17:13] Serena Offcourse: Hi Alan - welcome!

[17:13] Gabrielle Riel: Actual New Orleans is all about music! And so are we. :-)

[17:13] Alan (alan.moonwinder): Hi Serena - thank you

[17:13] Beth Ghostraven: Hi Alan!

[17:13] Gabrielle Riel: We are starting here, in this square, and I'll tell you a bit about the St Parish sim, its inspiration and its connection to actual history.

[17:13] Stephen Xootfly loves New Orleans culture.

[17:14] Gabrielle Riel: Then I will take you with me to different locations in the sim that are based on real life sites and/or buildings in New Orleans. There are some wonderful St John residents here to tell you more about these actual, real life places.

[17:14] Gabrielle Riel: After we visit several locations here in the sim, we will all return back here to The Nightingale, which is my watering hole just south of here. It's the pink brick building.

[17:14] Beth Ghostraven: Spiff, there you are!

[17:15] Gabrielle Riel: At that point we'll have some social time during which I'll be presenting a short retrospective of Early Jazz on Radio Riel Ragtime. That will be on the parcel audio stream.

[17:15] Gabrielle Riel: You are welcome to sit or dance or drink or all of the above until 6pm SLT, which is the "official" end of the tour...although we are known for celebrating well past the "official" end of any event!

[17:16] Gabrielle Riel: Feel free to ask questions as we move through the tour. We will do our best to answer them. Luckily I, and the St John tour assistants, know a lot about New Orleans...and one of my assistants is *from* New Orleans!

[17:16] Zoe Foodiboo whispers: neat

[17:16] Gabrielle Riel: My guess is that some of you might know a thing or two about New Orleans! Feel free to share. :-)

[17:16] Serena Offcourse: Hi Keesha - welcome

[17:16] Keesha Lenroy: thank you

[17:17] Gabrielle Riel: So...that's what you can expect on your tour with us today in St John! Does anyone have any questions before we get started?

[17:17] Gabrielle Riel: Alright then. :-)

[17:17] Serena Offcourse: Sounds great

[17:17] Gabrielle Riel: St John Parish is based on the actual city of New Orleans, but set 100 years ago. The sim is more of a tribute to New Orleans and it is *not* meant to be an historic re-creation. There are many, many places and buildings here in the sim that are based on actual ones, but please don't regard them as replicas.

[17:18] Gabrielle Riel: The name "St john" comes from the name of the earliest settlement in what is now New Orleans.

[17:18] Gabrielle Riel: St jean

[17:19] Gabrielle Riel: A small French outpost in the 1600s.

[17:19] Gabrielle Riel: There are a lot of details here in St John that I painstakingly researched, for example the roads, trolley tracks and street lights. I created these objects based on what they looked like in New Orleans 100 years ago. I found textures as close as possible to the actual streets. These lights are as close to the actual ones as possible.

[17:20] Gabrielle Riel: Oh what I could tell you about "ballast blocks", which is what were used in early "paving". :-)

[17:20] Serena Offcourse: Love the trolley Gabrielle

[17:20] Gabrielle Riel: There are many builds here in St john that are based on real buildings.

[17:20] Thunder (thunder.insippo): ballast? from ships?

[17:20] Zoe Foodiboo: It's all gorgeous.

[17:21] Gabrielle Riel: ty Serena - and yes Thunder!

[17:21] Gabrielle Riel: New Orleans was a major port, and they built their earliest streets from ballast blocks from ships.

[17:21] Thunder (thunder.insippo): recycling

[17:21] Zoe Foodiboo: Same in Hawaii.

[17:21] Gabrielle Riel: Some still remain today.

[17:21] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): Same in Charleston

[17:21] Thunder (thunder.insippo): we didn't event it afterall

[17:22] Oronoque Westland wonders if there was a change in ship building technology or a decline in shipbuilding

[17:22] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): the yellow brick road of oz was from Dutch yellow ballast bricks

[17:22] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): It was actually there way of getting back at Great Britain

[17:22] Gabrielle Riel grins - all the result of being port cities!

[17:22] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): Using material they brought over and dumped in the harbor

[17:23] Gabrielle Riel: On one side of the square here you'll see a building that is brick and yellow and pink.

[17:23] Beth Ghostraven: The street looks like some still in Alexandria, VA, another port city

[17:23] Oronoque Westland: more useful then what gets dumped in our waters today

[17:23] Thunder (thunder.insippo): and Norfolk - Freemason Street

[17:23] Stephen Xootfly: I have to run, I'll be back to explore. Glad I got a start and a new outfit.

[17:23] Zoe Foodiboo: Bye Stephen!

[17:23] Beth Ghostraven: take care, Stephen!

[17:23] Oronoque Westland: bye Stephen

[17:23] Kim Anubis: Bye, Stephen!

[17:23] Thunder (thunder.insippo): bye stephen

[17:23] Gabrielle Riel: That "three color" here on the square is based on Pirates Alley in new Orleans.

[17:24] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): TC

[17:24] Serena Offcourse: Thanks for coming

[17:24] Gabrielle Riel: The gray building behind us here with the green shutters is based on the Orleans Ballrrom.

[17:24] Gabrielle Riel: Which held the Quadroon Balls in the mid 19th Century.

[17:24] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): One thing I do wonder about RL New there a best time to visit other than Mardi Gras?

[17:25] Gabrielle Riel: Well, June is terribly hot, but that is when they celebrate St John's Day

[17:25] Gabrielle Riel: The voodoo version of Midsummer night :-)

[17:25] Zoe Foodiboo: Are these buildings that were built from scratch or modified from purchased buildings?

[17:25] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): Ok thanks

[17:26] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): Do you have voodoo buildings on the sim?

[17:26] Gabrielle Riel: Almost all of these buildings are custom buildings I commissioned

[17:26] Serena Offcourse: Love voodoo!

[17:26] Zoe Foodiboo: Nice. They're really beautiful.

[17:26] Gabrielle Riel: No voodoo on this sim.... ;-0

[17:26] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): you should visit Haiti then Serena

[17:26] Gabrielle Riel: * ;-)

[17:26] Serena Offcourse: thanks Joey - note to self...

[17:26] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): That were much of voodoo that you dooo caomes from

[17:26] Gabrielle Riel: My architect Ecledtric Breitman built most of these buildings.

[17:27] Serena Offcourse: they are amazing!

[17:27] Zoe Foodiboo nods

[17:27] Gabrielle Riel: I built the Edison Ballroom (Orleans Ballroom)

[17:27] Zoe Foodiboo: Great textures.

[17:27] Dae Miami: He did a great job

[17:27] Serena Offcourse: such detail

[17:27] Kim Anubis: Good work.

[17:27] Gabrielle Riel: My architect is a RL artist. He's brilliant and it shows.

[17:27] Beth Ghostraven: You did a great job on the ballroom, too, Gabi

[17:27] Gabrielle Riel: ty Beth! :-D

[17:27] Gabrielle Riel: We are starting our tour here in the center of the sim, in what we call Duchess Square. Duchess Square is vaguely based on Jackson Square in New Orleans.

[17:28] Gabrielle Riel: New Orleans was originally a relatively small, square French settlement on a river bluff.

[17:28] Gabrielle Riel: And it was originally centered around what was then called the Place d' Armes.

[17:28] Gabrielle Riel: In 1815, after the Battle of New Orleans, the square was renamed Jackson Square after the victorious United States general (and future president) Andrew Jackson.

[17:29] Gabrielle Riel: And now it's time for us to move! I am going to take you North to our cemetery.

[17:29] Gabrielle Riel: I'll walk carefully so you can all see me!

[17:29] Zoe Foodiboo: oooh I love cemeteries!

[17:29] Beth Ghostraven: eep!

[17:29] Gabrielle Riel: off we go!

[17:30] Zoe Foodiboo: Swimmy!

[17:30] Swimmy Sandalwood: hello Zoe, smiles

[17:31] Zoe Foodiboo gives Swimmy a big hug

[17:31] Zoe Foodiboo: are you a ghost?

[17:31] Gabrielle Riel: Let's wait for the others to catch up

[Note: we stopped at the cemetery at]

[17:31] Swimmy Sandalwood: lets give everyone a moment to arrive

[17:31] Swimmy Sandalwood: Good evening everyone and welcome to the St John Parish Cemetery. New Orleans' cemeteries are often called cities of the dead. Think: Spanish moss, votive candles, and lacy iron balconies ... but, also notice how the rows of tombs resemble city streets.

[17:32] Gabrielle Riel: This is Miss Swimmy, a St John resident and she is going to tell you about New Orleans cemeteries. :-)

[17:32] Thunder (thunder.insippo): This reminds me of a scene in a movie with Ashley Judd and TOmmie Lee Jones

[17:32] Swimmy Sandalwood: smiles

[17:32] Thunder (thunder.insippo): Double Jepordy?

[17:32] Zoe Foodiboo: that was a fun movie

[17:32] Swimmy Sandalwood: St John Parish has a representation of the famed St Louis Cemetery No. 1: Buried here are pirates, politicians, playboys, a chess world champion, and renowned Voodoo priestess Marie Laveau.

[17:33] Swimmy Sandalwood: Because we're so close to the water, New Orleans' graves were kept aboveground, following the Spanish and French customs of using vaults. Inside the tomb are long chambers, one above the other, separated by shelves, so many family members can be interred in one vault.

[17:33] Swimmy Sandalwood: On All Saints’ Day (Nov 1), families gather to honor their dead. Flowers, candles, photos, and memorabilia are placed, and in New Orleans' spirit, it is a tender graveside party atmosphere.

[17:33] Swimmy Sandalwood: Here in St John Parish Cemetery, residents can rent spaces. They set up tombs to memorialize former loved ones of both their first and second lives ... some even their exes!

[17:33] Zoe Foodiboo: lol

[17:33] Gabrielle Riel has never done that...oh no

[17:34] Swimmy Sandalwood: you are welcome to enter the cemetery and have a little look around

[17:34] Serena Offcourse: Great idea!

[17:34] Beth Ghostraven: How much does it cost to rent a space in the cemetery?

[17:34] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): Is it true that people come to the voodoo Queen's tomb to ask for help

[17:34] Gabrielle Riel: $45 L per week

[17:34] Zoe Foodiboo: Did your architect build these vaults too?

[17:34] Gabrielle Riel: No, these are mostly from Falln

[17:34] Kim Anubis: wow, the plots are separate parcels!

[17:34] Zoe Foodiboo: They're lovely!

[17:35] Thunder (thunder.insippo): /death

[17:35] Kim Anubis: No vampires here, I hope?  (reads Anne Rice)

[17:35] Swimmy Sandalwood: there have been a few sightings!

[17:35] Zoe Foodiboo: Are there, uh....avis in those coffins?

[17:35] Kim Anubis: Should have brought garlic :)

[17:36] Gabrielle Riel shouts: We'll walk through the cemetery to our next location.

[17:36] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): With man-eating sharks and Ladies first

[17:36] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): giggles

[17:36] Kim Anubis: What a gentleman ;)

[17:37] Kim Anubis: Wow, that's a great building

[17:37] Gabrielle Riel: I will give folks a moment to catch up

[17:37] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): very nicely done

[17:37] Beth Ghostraven: Yay Joey! Fighting lag with everything you've got!

[17:37] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): I'd love to do a virtual Charleston one day

[17:38] Kim Anubis: I have seen one, but I think I only have a Lindy.

[17:38] Gabrielle Riel: Ok! We are going to walk North to the docks. Does anyone need a TP to us?

[17:39] Gabrielle Riel: I don't want to leave anyone behind.

[17:39] Zoe Foodiboo: Seems like we're all here.

[17:39] Serena Offcourse: I would like tp pleaes

[17:39] Serena Offcourse: These shoes are killing my feet

[17:39] Gabrielle Riel: Ok - I will TP when I get to our spot

[17:39] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): lol

[17:39] Kim Anubis: hehe

[17:39] Gabrielle Riel: *TP you

[17:39] Serena Offcourse: thanks

[17:40] Gabrielle Riel: Let's get everyone up here

[17:40] Zoe Foodiboo: [17:39] Spiff (Spiff Whitfield): Gabrielle is there a environmental setting that you recommend for viewing?

[17:40] Gabrielle Riel: No - I do not use a specific one, except for during our hurricane

[17:40] Elyen Zlatkes: oop sorry Spiff

[17:40] Kim Anubis: Hurricane -- wow

[17:41] Gabrielle Riel: That's a WHOLE other story for another time!

[17:41] Spiff (spiff.whitfield): No worries Elyen

[17:41] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): I like the crickett sounds

[17:41] Spiff (spiff.whitfield): I have been blasting into people too
41] Elyen Zlatkes: :)

[17:41] Gabrielle Riel: Ladies and gentlemen, this is Miss Emma

[17:41] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): I have Spiff marks all over me tonight

[17:41] Emmanuelle Huntress: are we all here?

[17:41] Gabrielle Riel: I think so

[Note: we stopped on the North docks overlooking Lake St John at]

[17:42] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): Good evening Miss Emma

[17:42] Emmanuelle Huntress: Bonjour and welcome everyone. My name is Emmanuelle Huntress, and I am one of the estate managers here in St John. Miz Gabi asked me to say a few things about the lake.

[17:42] Blanche (blanche.fralto) waves to Miss Emma

[17:42] Serena Offcourse: Hello Miss Emma

[17:42] Zoe Foodiboo smiles hello

[17:42] Emmanuelle Huntress: Welcome to Lake St John. In New Orleans, the city is bordered on the north by Lake Ponchartrain, which is technically an estuary because it connects to the ocean. The real lake is approximately 630 square miles in area and is typically 12 to 14 feet deep in most spots.

[17:43] Emmanuelle Huntress: The lake is roughly oval in shape, about 40 miles from east to west and 24 miles from north to south. It was named after Louis Phélypeaux, comte de Pontchartrain. He was the French Minister of the Marine, Chancellor of France and Controller-General of Finances during the reign of France's "Sun King," Louis XIV, for whom the colony of La Louisiane was named.

[17:43] Gabrielle Riel: The French loved naming things after their "noblemen"

[17:44] Emmanuelle Huntress: The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway was constructed in the 1950s and 1960s, connecting New Orleans (by way of Metairie) with Mandeville and bisecting the lake in a north-northeast line. At 24 miles in length the Causeway is the second-longest bridge over a body of water in the world
[17:44] Gabrielle Riel: Here Lake Pontchartrain is represented by the entire Lake St John sim, which is what you see to our North.

[17:45] Emmanuelle Huntress: ...and if she didn't say it already, while we have to deal with the logistics of scale in SL, we tried very hard to give the feel of the region.

[17:45] Serena Offcourse: Scale is always a challenge

[17:45] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong) sees a gator on an island

[17:45] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): Yes hard to keep to scale and allow interaction at avatar level

[17:45] Gabrielle Riel: What we are going to do next it to walk down these docks and then South into a square. I'll take it slowly, and IM me if you need a TP to the next location.

[17:45] Alan (alan.moonwinder): This is really beautiful and very well done!!

[17:46] Emmanuelle Huntress: I think you'll agree we captured the 'feel' of the area.

[17:46] Zoe Foodiboo: It's lovely!

[17:46] Gabrielle Riel: Apologies in advance if I bump into anyone!

[17:46] Zoe Foodiboo whispers: I'm sorry, I have to go, but thank you for the tour!

[17:46] Zoe Foodiboo waves

[17:46] Beth Ghostraven: take care, Zoe!

[17:46] Serena Offcourse: Bye Zoe

[17:46] Emmanuelle Huntress: Come back anytime Zoe

[17:46] Kim Anubis: Bye, Zoe!~

[17:47] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): oops sorry Dae

[17:47] Swimmy Sandalwood: good night Zoe, happy to see you here this evening

[17:47] Gabrielle Riel: I'll pause a moment here

[17:48] Gabrielle Riel: Let folks catch up

[17:48] Blanche (blanche.fralto): You do realize that if you walked off the end of the pier... we would all follow you like lemmings :-)

[17:48] Kim Anubis: hehe

[17:48] Gabrielle Riel grins

[Note: we stopped at Satchmeaux Square at]

[17:49] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): Greetings Mr. Woodget

[17:49] Thunder (thunder.insippo): excuse me

[17:49] Rudolfo Woodget pours himself another drink. "Greetings. Y'all look parched. Pour yourself a glassl!"

[17:49] Serena Offcourse: Thanks you Gabrielle

[17:50] Serena Offcourse: Hello Rudolfo

[17:50] Blanche (blanche.fralto) waves to Rudolfo

[17:51] Gabrielle Riel: Ok! This is Professor Woodget...aka Uncle Rudy :-)

[17:51] Rudolfo Woodget: Satchmeaux Square is St John's playful nod to the Garden District of New Orleans.

[17:51] Rudolfo Woodget: Developed in the early nineteenth century, the Garden District became the center of Anglo-American society, in contrast to the Creole community in the old French Quarter, across Canal Street.

[17:51] Serena Offcourse: OH don't let Beth into the whiskey

[17:51] Beth Ghostraven: hahaha

[17:52] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): Last time I had Southern Comfort (shutters at the memory)

[17:52] Beth Ghostraven: Hopefully his Jack isn't as strong as mine is

[17:52] Rudolfo Woodget: St. John's is better with whiskey

[17:52] Rudolfo Woodget: The lots in the Garden District were large, often four to a  city block, quite different from the  busy streets and overhanging balconies of the old city.

[17:52] Rudolfo Woodget: Where the houses of the French Quarter enclosed private (even secret)  courtyards, the lush estates of the Garden District surrounded stately white-columned houses with  colorful flower gardens and rows of fruit trees.

[17:52] Rudolfo Woodget: Laid out along the stately oaks of St. Charles Avenue, the District was served by New Orleans first light rail system, and those streetcars still rattle along the streets of the Crescent City —  and St. John Parish.

[17:53] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): Do you know if they had houses called "Singles" with a single room in New Orleans for the ground floor?

[17:53] Oronoque Westland: sorry, I neeed to go...thanks for a wonderful tour

[17:53] Beth Ghostraven: take care, Oro!

[17:53] Kim Anubis: Bye, Oro

[17:53] Serena Offcourse: Bye Oronoque

[17:53] Thunder (thunder.insippo): Southern Comfort caused me some trouble in my youth

[17:53] Southern Comfort : Mmm..

[17:53] Rudolfo Woodget: We've dedicated this Square to Louis Armstrong. Although the Garden District was not his neighborhood, he grew up Back o' Town -- only a few blocks away.

[17:54] Rudolfo Woodget: Cheers! A pleasure to meet you all.

[17:54] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): Cheers Mr. Woodget

[17:54] Rudolfo Woodget: Where's next on your tour?

[17:54] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): I Ain't Misbehavin, Mr. Armstrong

[17:54] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): A Louis Armstrong avatar would be most cool

[17:54] Gabrielle Riel: Is everyone here? Serena and I have an idea....

[17:54] Serena Offcourse: Yes, I think all are here

[17:55] Gabrielle Riel: We are basically on top of 6pm SLT

[17:55] Gabrielle Riel: So what we are going to make this St John Tour Part I!

[17:55] Serena Offcourse: Gabrielle and I will set a date in near future

[17:55] Gabrielle Riel: And we will schedule another one for Part II.

[17:55] Serena Offcourse: So keep your outfits ironed

[17:55] Alan (alan.moonwinder): That would be great!

[17:55] Gabrielle Riel: Because we *easily* have another hour of content.

[17:56] Blanche (blanche.fralto) toasts the great idea

[17:56] Dae Miami: thanks for tour part 1

[17:56] Kim Anubis: I will look forward to it!

[17:56] Rudolfo Woodget puts in an order with his bootlegger for more liquid refreshments, for Part Deux

[17:56] Spiff (spiff.whitfield): yes.. .really great history information Gabrielle

[17:56] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): I'll come for part 2

[17:56] Serena Offcourse: Thanks so much Gabrielle

[17:56] Serena Offcourse: and thanks to all who joined us

[17:56] Gabrielle Riel: Serena and I will confer and set that up and she'll let you all know!

[17:56] Serena Offcourse: and to our fearless leader - Spiff!

[17:56] Kim Anubis: Thank you for a great tour

[17:56] Beth Ghostraven: Thank you!

[17:56] Anya Yakubu: wear some better shoes next time serena, important to be practical rather than fashionalble on a walking tour

[17:56] Thunder (thunder.insippo): Thank you!

[17:56] Kim Anubis: Yay Spiff!

[17:56] Serena Offcourse: LOL - good idea Anya

[17:56] Gabrielle Riel: Thank you all for joining us!

[17:57] Naring'Nari (joey.aboma): Thank you very much

[17:57] Gabrielle Riel: And I look forward to seeing you all again!

[17:57] Serena Offcourse: Where did I put those flip flops

[17:57] Talia Sunsong (taliasunsong): Thanks to the organizers and tour guide

[17:57] Anya Yakubu: thanks gabrielle

[17:57] Swimmy Sandalwood: it was a pleasure to have yall join us this evening in St John, thank you

[17:57] Gabrielle Riel: One thing - I will be saving these transcripts and posting them on my blog

[17:57] Serena Offcourse: Thanks again Gabrielle - this has been great

[17:57] Blanche (blanche.fralto) offers a polite golf clap for the tour
